"Coastal Cities ; The limits between the Land and the Sea"

Animals

The principal algae, which cover the bottom, are the Cystoseira and the
Phylophora. The floating plankton and nekton have an important role in the
productivity of the sea as a primary link in the food chain, to the small
floating animals and fishes exploited by man.
The principal Black Sea animals are: insects from the seaside zone (Arctia
villica, Labidura riparia, Mantis religiosa, etc), mammal's characteristic
(Vormella peregusna, Mesocricetus newtoni, Sicista subtilis). Under boulder
stones of the coast zone there are many specimens of crabs and black (Athanas) or transparent shrimps and other organisms.

Likewise along the coast zone, there are fishes, among which sea gudgeons, sea horses (Synynathidae), thormback and sting rays( Elasmobranchia sharks), as well as Acanthias, the only true sharks in the Black Sea. In the seaside region live and breed the grey mullets, atherines, flounders, blue mackerels, and sprats.
Greek cormorants (Carbo) are often met with. Among land birds there are
landrails (Crex), collared larks( Melanocorypha) bustards (Otis) and others.
