Sec. Paige's visit to Carson Elementary in Los Angeles, CA marks the 16th stop on his Tour Across America. Rep. Juanita Millender-McDonald and Los Angeles School Superintendent Roy Romer joined Paige as he spoke to students, parents and teachers about the significance of reading skills in a child's education.

"Your teachers, your president, your moms and dads and I are all working hard to help you get a great education so you can do all those things you dream of doing," Paige tells the students. "But you've got to do a few things, too. One of the best things you can do is read more. Everything you need to learn and succeed in school and in life is between the pages of good books. So read, read, read."
