Diversity Rx is organized into different sections to make it easier for you to find your way around. All the major sections are accessible from the navigation bar at the top of each page -- and each section is described in detail below. EthnoMed (Ethnic Medicine Guide) The EthnoMed site contains information about cultural beliefs, medical issues and other related issues pertinent to the health care of recent immigrants to Seattle, many of whom are refugees fleeing war-torn parts of the world. For a summary of these groups see Features of Major Refugee and Immigrant Groups Seen at Central Seattle Health Clinics. International Society for Equity in Health ISEqH is organized under the Maryland, United States of America, law and regulation exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. The purpose for which ISEqH is formed is to promote equity in health and health services internationally through education, research, publication, communication and charitable support. Health Promotion & Disease Prevention Section for Minority Health The Office of Minority Health (OMH) and the Minority Health Advisory Council (MHAC) were created by the General Assembly in 1992 to work to bridge the health status gap between North Carolina's white and minority populations. OMH is a small group of professionals with expertise and experience in public health administration, health education, program development and research. MHAC consists of 15 legislators, community leaders, and health and human services professionals from across the state who are appointed by the Governor, Speaker of the House, and President Pro Tempore of the Senate. Minority Ethnic Communities & Health (a UK and US joint Project) At the request of the Ethnic Advisor for the United Kingdom (UK) Department of Health, the United States (US) agreed to collaborate with the UK on issues of vital concern to both countries as it relates to the health of minorities. The purpose of this collaboration is to provide a forum to exchange information on minority health needs in each country and to develop an agenda for long-term collaboration on improving the health of racial and ethnic minority populations in both countries. Minority Health Research Catalog The Minority Health Research Catalog is an online catalog containing citations of journal articles, books, ongoing research, and works in progress relevant to investigators interested in minority health research. The Catalog contains information about the publication, such as title of article, the source of the article, year of publication, and an abstract. The vast majority of entries in the Catalog were found by searching National Library of Medicine Databases, in particular, MEDLINE, AIDSLINE, BioethicsLINE, and HealthStar The 1993 consolidation of Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University (now MCP Hahnemann University) has given the institution a step forward in efforts to educate and assist minority students. The best of the existing programs at both schools have become the nucleus of a broad new effort: Pathways to Health Professions for Minority Students. Pathways is a structure linking existing initiatives with new program thrusts in a coordinated approach that will increase the number of underrepresented minorities (African Americans, Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans and Native Americans) in the health education pipeline. Centers and Programs on Minority and Community Health This site has a checklist of links at different colleges and universities that offer a variety of academic programs in Minority studies.

Housed in a major public university, our team of professionals represents a broad spectrum of public and private sector health care experience. We have extensive experience working with state regulatory and Medicaid programs, public health agencies, the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The Michigan Initiative on Iniqualities in Health The Michigan Initiative on Iniqualities in Health promotes inquiry into the causes and consequences of societal inequalities in health and potential remedies, via an interdisciplinary program of discussion, research and teaching. Health Services Management Summer Enrichment Program The intent of the program is to encourage minority undergraduates to identify health management as an attractive career option by familiarizing them with the field through a structured summer work experience. The ultimate goal is to increase minority participation in a career area in which minorities have been underrepresented. * The brief on each link
