3.B.1.2 Mnemiopsis leidyi jelly

The rainbow jelly or Leidy's comb jelly Mnemiopsis leidyi is an exotic species accidentally introduced to the Black Sea in the early 1980s. Today its a mass planktonik species with atotal biomass of about 1,000,000,000 tons. It feeds on zooplankton, eggs and fish larvae. It grows to a size of up to 10-15 cm.
