Taxonomic descriptions: Tallus are 3-20 cm chaotically branched. Stems finish on the top leaf-shape lamellas which have a triangular form. The base part of the stems is cylindrical, width about 1 mm, dark almost black colour. The leaf lamellas have no rib, they are thin and tender. The length of the lamellas are 1.5-3 cm, width at base 2-5 mm, at the top 10-20 mm. Same lamellas on the top dichotomic division. Tsistokarps developing on stems and lamelle are large at - 1.5-2 mm on the feet .

Distribution: Accumulation in the north-western part of the “Zernov`s Phyllophora field”.
Habitat type, Critical habitats, Limiting factors: On stones and shells at a depth of 25-30m. High concentration of suspended matter. Diminution of light penetration.
Biology: Perennial. Ph. pseuduceranoides have tetrasporophit and two-housed gametophit.
Population trends: In the 1960s the biomasse comprised 10-350 g/m2, stocks - 25·103 tons. Currently in decline.
Threats: Decreasing transparence. High level of eutrophication.
Conservation measures taken: Included in the Red Data Book of the Ukraine.
Conservation measures proposed: Reduce concentrations of suspended matter. Reduce the level of the combination of phosphorus and nitrogen.
