The Greenhouse
We went to
the greenhouse of mister van Leeuwen in Honselersdijk. He grows roses there on
6000 square meters. In the shed is a machine that puts the roses into bundles
and puts a plastic wrap over it.
In the
greenhouse are assimilation lamps, and the roses grow in substrate mats. The
plants need CO2 for assimilation, and the grower puts extra CO2 from the
electricity generator in the greenhouse, so the plants grow faster. The total
amount of workers is variable, and so does the number of flowers which go to

Windlust is a mill for grain in Dutch it’s called stellingmolen.
-Today the
windmill lost its importance. The people don’t need it anymore for producing
flour. It would be just too expensive. Back in the early days it was the only
way to get the valuable product.
-Garrets
are working by wind. Their movement activates the rest of the mill so the
grinding can start. This is all running by the power of the wind.

Schiphol Airport

●Schiphol
is a very important economy factor for the region. There are working many
people from the region, not only at the airport itself, but also in the firms
which have a building near the airport. There are many transport
(export/inport) enterprises there, but also big enterprises like Yamaha. So if
the airport would be closed one time, it would be a real catastroph for the
hole region.
●Every
year, more than 62million passengers use the airport to travel to each place on
the whole world. There are working more than 60.000 people at th airport, also
in the stores, etc.
