Robert Tinker, President, holds a Ph.D. in experimental low-temperature physics from MIT. Internationally recognized as a pioneer in constructivist uses of educational technology, he developed the MBL and Network Science concepts and has directed numerous educational research projects. Stephen Bannasch, Director of Technology for the Educational Technology Lab, directs technical planning and development, pioneered the technology used in educational applications of computer interfaces to laboratory experiments (so-called microcomputer-based labs or MBL). Jack Barnett serves as User Services Coordinator, delivering technical support to our staff and serving as technical purchasing agent. He holds a BA in English from Bates College. Jack's most recent prior position was that of system administrator at The Recorder, a newspaper in Western Massachusetts, where he supported 60+ users and 5 networks, including Mac, DOS and Windows machines. Kristin Barr
is the Administrative Assistant for Finance & Administration. Kristin has a very versatile role in the Concord Consortium. She acts as Finance's liaison to the CSF office in Vermont, handles Consultant contracts and billing, travel arrangements, preparation of financial data, and assists the individual projects with a variety of tasks. Kristin comes to us from American International Chemical, Inc. where she served her time as Credit Manager and Accounts Manager. Boris Berenfeld is Director of the International Center and serves as Senior Scientist to two projects. Boris holds a Ph.D. in radiation biophysics from Moscow State University and has extensive research experience in biology, ecology and the application of technology. Anne Bijur is the Project Assistant for the Center for a Sustainable Future. She is responsible for maintaining administrative and budgetary records, editing public relations and educational material, managing CSF's web pages, as well as managing and maintaining the CSF office. Anne is an experienced writer, editor, and environmental educator. She has worked as an editor and a freelance travel writer for Fodor's Travel Publications, as a teacher for the Echo Hill Outdoor School and the University of Vermont's school of Natural Resources. Ed Burke is Senior Software Systems Designer for the GenScope project. He received his B.A. in Mathematics from Bowdoin College in 1976 and his M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Rochester in 1978. Jack Byrne is Project Director of the Center for a Sustainable Future (CSF) and co-Project Director of Education for a Sustainable Future (ESF). The Center's mission is to educate learners of all ages to act sustainably at a personal, family, community and global scale. Jack is in charge of all curriculum and dissemination efforts for ESF. Mary Ann Christie focuses on Research and Evaluation of constructivist technologies (e.g. GenScope and BioLogica). She is interested in the ways in which technology improves both education and educational research. She holds an M.A. (psychology) from Harvard University, an M.S.(computer science) from Boston College, and a B.S. (statistics and operations research) from New York University. Mary Ann is currently a Ph.D. candidate in educational studies at the Lesley College School of Education in Cambridge, MA. George Collison is a Senior Developer at CC who holds
an Ed.D. in Science Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
George is also the Academic Director of the INTEC project, the
International Netcourse Teacher Enhancement Coalition. He authors
instructional modules, designs assessment instruments, recruits and
supports faculty, content
experts, and moderators for the INTEC offering. Technology and equity have
been consistent themes in his work. He is also deeply interested in

Jeannie Finks is the Webmaster. She manages, designs, and consults on various design and technical issues for our web sites and staff. Paul Horwitz is the Senior Scientist of the GenScope, C-BM, QSAD, and BioLogica projects. He has an A.B. from Harvard College and a Ph.D. in physics from New York University. Paul is a theoretical physicist with broad experience in the fields of technology assessment, applied problem solving, operations analysis, system design and instructional development. As a Congressional Fellow of the American Physical Society, working in the office of Senator Edward Kennedy, and later as a Visiting Scholar in the Center for Policy Alternatives at MIT, he provided input into the role of the federal government in promoting and planning for technological innovation in education and other areas. Joyce Schwartz is Senior Education Specialist for the GenScope and

Carolyn Staudt is a Curriculum Designer for technology- and Internet-based projects, including SLiC, VHS, KAGS (Kids As Global Scientists), and NetAdventure.
