Transfer of Knowledge
At ETE we believe that learning is not simply the storage of information, but the ability to transfer knowledge from one activity to the next. We believe that our ETE modules promote knowledge transfer. Since transfer is a positive behavior, we hope that you will reinforce it when it occurs. To be able to recognize evidence of transfer, it is important to be aware of its possibility as you plan your ETE module. You will want to be alert for evidence that transfer is taking place. A good activity, in a sense, is never completed; its effects follow the student, providing a mental scaffolding for new information.
